Lydia Nottage's Obituary
Lydia Nottage was born on April 18th, 1931 in Jacksonville, Florida. She spent her early years in Newark N.J. There she met and married a young soldier, James E. Nottage. Their family began with the birth of their daughter Mari.
In the Summer of 1958 they moved to Tacoma where James was stationed at Fort Lewis. Soon after their family grew with the birth of Jerome Edgar and Keith Wayne. For many years she worked in the field of customer service and food service with the Tacoma School District.
A long time member of the McKinley Hill Friends Church, serving on various boards and singing in the choir.
Known for her cooking and amazing baking, no one ever left her home hungry.
Lydia was preceded in death by by her loving husband (James) and daughter (Mari Reed).
Left to carry on are sons Jerome Edgar and Keith Wayne. Grandsons Austin Wayne (Portland) Quinn Allen (High Point N.C.) and Grayson Elizabeth (Puyallup), and Great Grandson Beckham Wheat (Gresham).
A celebration of life service will be held on June 19th at 9:00 am at Mountain View Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest along side of James at Tahoma National cemetery.
