Luther Bradford Jr's Obituary
Mr. Luthanial Clay Bradford Jr. Affectionately known as "Luther, Brad, Lute and Daddy" completed his walk in life and was called home to be with the Lord at the age of 77 on May 23, 2013.
He was born and raised in Tacoma (Ruston) Washington at St. Joseph Hospital on January 9, 1936. He was the first born of two children (sister Mary Alice Bradford) to the late Luthanial C. Bradford Sr. and Alice P. Bradford (Harding).
He received his formal education in Tacoma Washington School district 10 and attended Ruston Elementary, Mason Jr. High and Stadium HS where he met the love of his life. While in HS he played football and ran track in which he got a scholarship to OSU (Oregon State University), but turned it down to enlist in the Navy in 1954 and served as a Boatswain's mate for 8 years. He was raised and attended God's Pentecostal Church in Tacoma, WA. He was the last original member of the church.
While serving his country from 1954-1962 he married his sweetheart Bea Bradford who he affectionately referred to her as "Babe" and had two sons, David Clay Bradford (deceased) and Joseph Dean Bradford, both of Tacoma, WA. He was a stoic man who put family first, loved to fish and was kind to all he knew and met.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 55 years, 4 months, retired nurse and a licensed missionary, Bea Bradford, one son CPT,IN, Joseph Dean Bradford. He joins those who preceded him in death including his father and mother, Luther and Alice Bradford, one sister, Mary Alice Bradford and his favorite uncle, Rev. Romeo Henry Bradford. He leaves to mourn 2nd cousin, Carolyn Grant (Goodwin) and a host of relatives and friends. Special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Turner, daughters, Sharon Danzy, son, Wayne Bessemer, AL and Miss Patrick Hinton, Birmingham, AL, Dr. Raymond Dilworth, Dr. Jamie Pugeda and his favorite dentist, Naako Kimura DDS.
