Lucy Helen Pridemore/Jakes(Grandma Lucy)Lucy Helen; beloved Mother, Grandmother and Friend; left us peacefully on August 26, 2004 after a short illness.Born in Monroe City, Missouri on October 16, 1926, she married C.W. (Shorty) Pridemore on May 2, 1946 then moved to Tacoma Washington. After the passing of C.W. Pridemore (in 1983), Lucy Helen retired from 33 years of service with the University of Puget Sound. She married Charles E. Jakes in 1986; he later passed away in 1993.Lucy Helen spent her time with family and friends; camping, traveling, bowling, and watching her son-in-law Ron race NASCAR. Lucy Helen is survived by her daughters Sharon (Jerry) and Debby; son Rickey (Carla); six grandchildren; Dedra, Trina, John, Abigail, Andrew, and Christopher; great-granddaughter Gaby; step-children; Gina (Ron) and Ron (Elaine); step-grandchildren; Donnie, Troy, Ann, Michael, and Elizabeth; three sisters, one brother; and many friends. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.Viewing will be 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30th and 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31st. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. View Valley Chapel. We love you Grandma Lucy!
