Lucille Mears' Obituary
Lucille Mears passed away at home September 16,2016 in Tacoma Wa. She was born March 18,1930 to James and Margaret Mears in Moxee, Wa. After her parents passed away she was sent to a Aunt that lived in Montana. Where she lived, until around the early or mid 60's and one of her brothers and sister brought her to Tacoma, Wa. Where she lived until her death.
At a young age she got bird fever, so only able to attend to 3rd grade. But didn't stop our Great Aunt Lucille. She taught herself to write her name and could tell you who had sent a letter or package thru the mail. She was a great cook, love to bake cakes and cookies and her famous spice or flavoring was anise. She crocheted everyone dollies, color many color books and always shared pages that she had color with whoever came into the home. She loved to watch soaps and cartoons on her tv. And she would tell you who was who on the soaps.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Delbert, Floyd, Alfred, Albert, Lawrence Mears and sisters Ethel Gerick, Juanita Hurt and Vera Hurt. She is survived by her son, Fred(Lynn) Mears of Yakima Wa; and grandson Trevor Mears of Seattle Wa; with many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring in Yakima,Wa. Where she will be laid to rest with her family. She will be greatly missed.
