Lucille Lawrence Gehringer
1929-2020
On May 8, 2020 Lucille passed peacefully at the age of 90. Lucille was born to Harold S. and Gladys Lawrence in Holbrook, Mass. She was an adventurous soul, who served as a 1st Lieutenant, Registered Dietitian in the US Army in Europe. While in Europe she met her husband Jack, and had four children (John, Ginny, Ralph and David). The family travelled extensively during Jack’s military career concluding in the state of Washington.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Jack and son Ralph . She is survived by; John and Karen Gehringer and family, Virginia and Mark Justice and family and David Gehringer and family, brothers Paul and Ralph Lawrence, sister Lois Dowling, many nieces and nephews. Lucille was an active member of The Little Church on the Prairie and had many friends at the church. She was also actively involved in Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Mayflower Society, TOPS and the Lakewood YMCA. During Jack’s military career, Lucille was an active volunteer for Army Community Services.
A celebration of life will be held later this year due to current state restrictions on gatherings. In lieu of flowers please make donations to: The Ralph W. Gehringer Endowment at Little Church on The Prairie, Lakewood, Washington, Franciscan Hospice, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, Guide Dogs of America or to a charity of your choice in Lucille’s name.
