Lucille Adelia Campbell's Obituary
Lucille Adelia Campbell, 91, passed away June 15, 2013 in Tacoma, WA. She was born to Siegfried A. and Adelia A. (Meyer) Michaelson on July 30, 1921 in Humphrey, NE.
She married Douglas Woodrow Campbell on September 20, 1941 in Tacoma, WA. Lucille was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and was very proud of being part of the Quilting Group of the Church. She was also honored to have helped with the war effort during World War II as a fork lift operator at the Ordinance Depot in Tacoma.
Lucille loved to travel, camping in the early days, flying and going on cruises later on in her life, never wanting to visit the same place twice. She also was an awesome cook and hospitality expert making an enjoyable time for all at family gatherings. The family will remember her as a feisty, spunky, strong willed person with a great sense of humor. As a loving Mother, her family was her number one priority, making sure family events were attended and instilling the importance of keeping a close family bond to her children.
Lucille is survived by her children Douglas (Linda) Campbell of Tacoma, Donald (Sally Lund) Campbell of Issaquah and Elizabeth Campbell of Tacoma; sister Maxine Seefeld of Columbus, NE; grandchildren Marianne (Phillip) Sheridan, Renee (Leif) Wanager, Lara Rittenhouse, Heather (Scott) Wren, Bonnie (Tate) Englund and Bryan Campbell; great-grandchildren Carly Wanager, Abi Wanager, Emma Wren, Owen Wren, Henry Englund and extended family Robin Ramberg and Mike Glenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters Marcella Jackson and Erna Talley-Valinoti; brothers Emil, Victor, Clarence, Edward and Jack Michaelson.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Mountain View Funeral Home Celebration of Life Center Aspen Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be sent to the Weatherly Inn Employee Christmas Fund, 6016 North Highlands Parkway, Tacoma, WA 98406.
