Lucille "Lucy" Elizabeth Burk's Obituary
On Saturday, November 9, 2024 Lucy passed away peacefully as she was called home to be with the love of her life Ron.
Born on January 23rd 1937 to Nickolaus Leingang and Francis Gerhart in Mandan, North Dakota, She was the 6th of 9 children and grew up on a farm in St. Anthony, ND.
Lucy worked civil service as a head cook at McChord Air Force Base for 30 years in two different dining halls and running the Inflight kitchen during her last several years while raising 5 children.
Lucy was tough as nails and was not your typical soft and fuzzy type of person. She would always shoot you straight and tell you the hard truths in life. She lived by four “F” Words… Faithful, Friends, Family and Food.
She was a great cook and baker. She was known for her many varieties of cookies, cakes, candies and so on for the holidays and of course her world famous popcorn balls. She fed the masses and delivered holiday goodies to family, neighbors, and anyone who otherwise may have gone without.
She was a care giver, she took in many when in need and she was always there to listen and provide advice and guidance when needed.
Her passing leaves an incredible void in the family that can never be replaced and she will be terribly missed by all.
She is survived by her Sister Annie and Brother Nick; her Children and (spouses): Connie (Tom), Rick (Nancy), Mark (Leanne), Scott (Karen), Terry, Joi (Joe) and Julie; her Grandchildren (and spouses): Matthew (Dee), Cherrish (James), Rick Jr. (Jen), Kelly (Brad), Shawn (Elena), Savannah (Maxwell), Paul, Britanee (Bryan), Tristan (Austin), Sarah (Tacho), Cassidy (Brandon), Kennedy (Devin), Brittany (Shawn), Josh, Jessica (Demarcus) and Amber; and her Great Grandchildren: Landon, Lainey, Deshawn, Bella, Jensen, Aubree, Cody, Maxton, Enzo, Taylor, Fernando, Leo, Chloe, Eli, Ariya, Peyton, Nikolai, Briyanna, Jayden, Jalie and Cooper .
