Lowell Shelstad's Obituary
Born in Manitou (Tacoma), Washington in the home of Lewis Emanuel and Marguerite (Birdie) Shelstad on Dec. 11, 1927, Lowell Shelstad passed away March 28, 2004. Booner graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946, and was awarded captain and most inspirational in basketball. He joined the Navy to see the world and play basketball. Booner worked for Spoon Automotive in Aberdeen and Olympia for 34 years. After retiring, he spent much time traveling throughout the country. Booner is survived by his children, Richard Shelstad, Mike (Jan) Shelstad, Kimberlee Nielsen, Patti Lynn Shelstad (Mark Bray), Rebecca Shelstad; grandchildren, Michael D., Geoffrey H., and Stephen L. Shelstad, and Skyler Hood; sister Blanch (Les); brother Ronald (Aggie); cousins and many friends.Graveside services will be held at 12:30pm, Thursday, April 1, 2004 at Mt. View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Pierce or Thurston County Humane Society.
