Louvain Alviso's Obituary
Louvain (Griffiths) Alviso
Louvain Alviso, age 81, formerly of Lakewood, Washington, passed away peacefully in her sleep while at home on Friday, August 24, 2018. Her family and friends are proud of her strength and resilience throughout her battle with cancer, heart and kidney disease.
Louvain was born in Wales on October 3, 1936 and raised in England by her parents, Iris and Thomas Griffiths, who raised four children Louvain, Valma, Maldwyin and Lynne. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joseph. They met while he was stationed at Manston AFB, England, and married at St. Ethelbert Church in Ramsgate, England. Being in the Air Force, they traveled throughout the United States and settled in Lakewood. Together they raised four children Katrina, David, Roxanne and Karl. They have ten Grandchildren, ten Great-Grandchildren, and one Great, Great Grandchild. She was very proud of them and enjoyed their company. Louvain was a very wonderful person and she cared for everyone she met. Her love for family was very personal and wanted for all of them to stay in touch with each other. Each year she gathered the large families together Veliz, Martini and Alviso until she couldn’t do it anymore. She loved to garden, aerobics at the YMCA, a long-time member of TOPS, and a devout #12 fan of the Seahawks. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial celebration of her joyous life will be held for family and friends in the Willow Room, Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Thursday, September 6th, followed by a graveside service at 3:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests in memory of Louvain a donation be made towards the heart and kidney disease foundations.
