Louise S. Winterburn's Obituary
Louise S. Winterburn, age 90 of Tacoma, Washington passed away on December 25, 2020.
Born April 20, 1930, Louise was the oldest of three daughters of Howard and Anna (Schlosser) Strattman of Woodbury, Conn. She graduated from high school in Woodbury, Conn., married Ferris Thomas and became a successful bookkeeper. She used this skill several times in the years ahead with many companies and in her volunteer work.
Louise married her second husband Reginald Winterburn and traveled with him to many places throughout the U.S. while caring for 6 children. After his passing she lived with or near her oldest daughter until her death.
Being a mom, grandmother, and great- grandmother kept her busy throughout her life. In her later years, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant helping clients in their homes. She truly enjoyed assisting others. Louise also enjoyed baking dozens of cookies, (especially at Christmas), quilting, reading, puzzles, and playing a great game of cards.
Grandma Louise “Wheezy” will be missed by family and friends. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Sandra (Thomas) and Carl Johnson of Washington State, Reginald and Dee Winterburn of New Hampshire, Cynthia (Winterburn) and Jay Bruton of Virginia, Sharon (Collins) and Jerry Duke of Alabama, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many extended relatives.
Louise was preceded in death, by her parents, her husband Reginald Winterburn, both sisters; Hazel Attanasio and Marie Caton, her sons Robert Thomas and James Winterburn, and grandson Peter Duke.
Memorial services and burial will be in Woodbury, Conn at a future date.
