Louise Miller's Obituary
Agnes Louise Miller passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2008, at the age of 92. She was born of Swedish immigrant parents on February 2, 1916 in Aberdeen, Washington. As a child she enjoyed spending her summers with her sister and cousin at Westport Beach. Louise graduated from Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen in 1934 and studied at the Grays Harbor Business School. She attended Washington State University and graduated from the School of Pharmacy in 1939. Louise met her husband Harold while hiking with a mountaineering club. They were married in 1941 on Easter Sunday and built their home in Tacoma. Louise' first job was working at the Medical Arts Building Pharmacy. She also worked at the Proctor Pharmacy and for many years at Lincoln Pharmacy. Louise and Harold were very active members of First Lutheran Church where they were counselors for Luther League. They were also active members of the Wilson High School Music Boosters Club. She enjoyed wild flowers, gardening, playing the piano, painting and crafts. In retirement she directed two singing groups: the Funtime singers and the Melodears, and received awards for her service to the community. Her husband Harold, her son Ronald and her sister Nancy Schut predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter, Karla Angle and son-in-law Ed, grandchildren Courtney, Adrianne and Jonathan, many nieces and nephews, and good friends, the Herforth Family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will be remembered for her amazing spirit and generosity. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at First Lutheran Church at 6th and I Street at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11th. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to First Lutheran Church, the Washington State School of Pharmacy or a favorite charity.
