Louise M. Stephenson's Obituary
Louise Stephenson died peacefully at her home on January 10, 2010 at the age of 83. She was born in Denton, MT on May 2, 1926 as Mabel Louise Korslund. As a young girl, she and her family lived in Boise, ID before moving to Tacoma in 1942. During WWII, she worked at the Rainier Ordinance Depot. On January 12, 1946 Louise married George Stephenson, Jr. In 1951, George built the home that she lived in until her death. At the time of George's death, the couple had been married 62 years. They raised three daughters, Linda, Pamela and Martie. While her girls attended school she was involved with Y-Wives and PTA. The PTA awarded her the Acorn Award. Louise loved quilting and was a member of the "Comforters Quilt Guild". She and George belonged to the "Viking Yacht Club". She loved to dance. She was a very caring and giving person. She will be missed immensely. She is survived by her sisters, JoAn Lynn and Caroline Wagner, three daughters, Linda Harper, Pamela Peters (husband Philip) and Martie Van Patten (special friend Bob), five grandchildren, Stephanie Epperly (husband Glen), Jason Peters, Matthew Harper, Nicholas Van Patten (wife Tracy) and Dustin Van Patten (fianc Mel) and five great grandchildren, Zackery Van Patten, Dylan Christian, Aunna Van Patten, Caitlin Van Patten and Grace Louise Epperly. Funeral services will be held on January 19th, 2010 at 1:00 PM, Mountain View Valley Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA, 253-584-0252.
