Louise A. Ost

I am so happy to hear that Auntie Louise went to be with Jesus (although she will be sorely missed)...I think the Lord was so excited to finally have her with him.
She was a blessing to my life. Even though I'm her great-niece once removed (or something like that)she always remembered my birthday. What a dear sweet lady.

As a child I always looked forward to our time with Uncle Joe and Aunt Louise when they came home on furlough. It was so great to have relatives come all the way to Nome to see us. It seemed both of them were so loving to us all. When I grew older, and could understand better, I knew this was the love of God that made them the people they were. As an adult, I know Aunt Louise loved the Lord with all her heart and lived her life serving Christ as her Lord. She lived her life so others could see Christ in her. What a beautiful example she was for us.

To all of Aunt Louise's family, I am sorry for the lose, but am glad that she is finally home. I will miss her letters dearly along with her words of wisdom. She was a blessing to me and my family and we will miss her a lot. God Bless everyone in this time of need and throughout the rest of our lives. I, along with my children Eric and Beckie, have many wonderful memories of our years together in Cote d'Ivoire with "Uncle Joe" and "Aunt Louise." They were more like family to my children than our relatives back in the States.
Louise was a tireless servant: nurse, teacher, compassionate friend to a multitude of people. As Joe travelled all over the area building churches, houses and schools, Louise made a real home for them in whatever temporary shelter they had to live in. She was loving and hospitable to all. My husband, David, and I will always remember Aunt Louise and her love for Jesus. She never had a bad word to say about anyone, and was always cheerful and thankful. When she visited us on our farm in Oregon for a week, she was the perfect houseguest, and we truly enjoyed having her there and in our lives. She was a real Christian. Thank God for the Blessed Hope of Christ's soon coming!
