I knew Louis and his family through staying a month with them as an exchange student in 1987. I remember very well our time together, the friends he shared with me and the image he gave me of the U.S. Louie's intelligence, his sense of humor and his honesty impressed and formed my positive view of the U.S. until today. I have never met him afterwards but kept him in my memories and always will. I am deeply sorry about your loss. My life would have not been the same without meeting him!

I think my favorite memory of Louie was when he came to the Foss Halloween dance dressed like a Christmas tree. He and Sheila, who was a present, won the contest for best costume. I wish I had a picture of them from that night! Louie always made us laugh. I can't believe he is gone. May you find your strength in the Lord Jesus during this very difficult time. I was so sorry to hear about Louie. He volunteered for us this summer at the Wheelock branch of the Tacoma Public Library. He handled our busiest times of Summer Reading Club with calmness and caring. He will be truly missed. An old legend says that as long as we remember him he will still be present, although not visible, like stars in the sky during the day. I remeber seeing Louis at Kay and Chucks 50th wedding anniversary. I remeber him as being very handsome and very nice. Justin and him stuck out in the crowd as being very nice and both very good looking also. My heart goes out to the family and friends who were close to him. Louis was a constant in my life via phone. I would always call to order something and he would always seem to answer. When we finallly got to work alongside each other at Harborview it was like we had worked together forever, in a way we had.
