Lottie Aline Nickelsen's Obituary
Lottie Aline Austin Nickelsen, grand-dame of our family, was reunited in Heaven with her husband Theodore, on May 24, 2014. She was surrounded in her final days by the family and friends she lived her life loving. She leaves behind two daughters: Deborah (Tom) Powell and Gwen (Kenneth) Hillius; four grandchildren: Barrie (Jeremy) Trenary, Tom (Keli) Powell Jr., Emilie (Tom) Yabe and Rose Powell; and five great-grandchildren: Abby, Lucy, Sam and Lottie Trenary and Jacob Powell.
Lottie was born on August 1, 1922 to Alvin and Lizzie Austin in Joplin, Missouri. She married Theodore, the love of her life, February 3, 1946, and together they lived in Japan, Germany and all over the United States until they settled in Tacoma, WA and spent their retirement years watching their family grow.
Theodore preceded her to Heaven in 1984 and she longed for the day she’d see him again. She was a prayer-warrior in her life, bringing everything to the feet of her Savior. Our “Nanny” gave our family tree strong roots of faith and we know that we will one day be reunited with her as she has been with “Papa.”
We thank the Lord Jesus Christ for sharing her with us these many years and are grateful to know that it is truly well with her soul.
