Lorraine Margaret Sheets' Obituary
Lorraine Sheets was born in 1934 and had celebrated her 80th birthday at Thanksgiving. She was the youngest of five daughters (and a twin) of Fred H. and Mary Margaret (Woods) Sheets. She was born in Marshall, Minnesota where she was raised and graduated from Marshall HS, class of 1953. After high school she attended Mankato State College in Mankato, Minnesota. During her adult life, Lorraine lived in Spokane, Denver, Nome and Fairbanks, Alaska, Chicago, and Tacoma. Excepting for her work as a bookkeeper for the Nome and Fairbanks school districts, Lorraine's career was in banking.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, sisters June Elizabeth Moon, Irene Mae Pittard, Anna Katherine Warne, and Elaine Maude Sheets (her twin), and brothers-in-law Harvey E. Moon and Richard W. Pittard. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Burton Warne of South Dakota, nieces and nephews Kent Moon, Twyla (Barry) Bergh, Charles (Bonnie) Moon, Jay (Sharon) Moon, Donna Goerlinger, Mary (Linda) Warne, Robert (Vicki) Warne, Clara (Roger) Jones, Rev. Wayne Pittard, numerous grand nieces and nephews, special grandnephew, Bryson Walker, and many cousins.
In her early years, Lorraine loved to hunt and fish and in later years was an avid sports fan especially of the Chicago Bears while she lived in Chicago and then the Seahawks once she retired to Tacoma. She was a devoted viewer of any television program relating to Alaska and loved watching all sports on television.
Aunt Lorraine, who was a breast cancer survivor, was devoted to her Catholic faith and her family and was always proud of her Irish heritage.
