Lorraine Sartin's Obituary
Lorraine Mary Overstreet Sartin was born on December 17th, 1928 in Atherton, CA. She went to be with the Lord on September 29th, 2011 at the age of 82. Lorraine is survived by Joy and her children Jeremy, Nathaniel, Megan and Melissa; Diana and her sons Brian and Benjamin; Mitchell and his children Alexander and Carly; Phillip and his son Aaron; Marcia and her daughters Robin and Beth Marie; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 57 years, Robert Sartin, who also joined the Lord in heaven on November 22, 2006.
In her younger years, Lorraine studied music at the University of Puget Sound, where she was a member of the Aldephian Choir. She studied voice privately as well as the piano, for many years. She also worked at KTNT radio station. She later married Robert and together they raised five children. After her children were grown Lorraine worked for several years as a church secretary at Hope Lutheran Church.
Besides her family, music was the other love of her life. Lorraine sang in church choirs, for weddings and other occasions. She also loved playing the piano. Music was the inheritance Lorraine left for her family. Her pursuits included her music, writing poetry, painting, solving jigsaw puzzles, knitting, as well as socializing with loved ones and friends. She traveled extensively in her later years, visiting many foreign countries including Spain, Israel and Egypt.
Lorraine's feisty spirit and vibrant personality will be greatly missed.
Please come join us as we celebrate Lorraine's life at the public memorial service at Hope Lutheran Church, in Tacoma, on Saturday, October 8th at 11:00 AM.
