Lorraine Irene Larsen's Obituary
Lorraine Irene Larsen, lifelong Tacoma resident, passed away peacefully, with family at her side, March 31st, 2017 at the age of 73. Lorraine was born July 31st, 1943, the first of two daughters to Howard and Myrtle Knutson. After graduating from Tacoma’s Lincoln High School, she joined the working world in the insurance industry. It was there that she met the love of her life, William Larsen. They were married March 18th, 1967 in Tacoma. Lorraine subsequently dedicated herself to the upbringing of their only child, Michael, before embarking upon a 17 year career as a civilian employee of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department. Between time devoted to family, friends, boating on Puget Sound and volunteering for various organizations, Lorraine found immense joy and fulfillment in her life.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, William of Tacoma; son, Michael of Whitefish, Mont.; sister Patricia Lenzen of Vancouver, Wash.; niece Elizabeth Lenzen of Vancouver, Wash., and great nephews Jackson and Matteo.
Family and friends are invited to attend a gathering in Lorraine’s honor Thursday, April 13th, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Oak Room at Mountain View Funeral Home’s Celebration of Life Center, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA, 98499. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations in Lorraine’s honor be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, https://www.lls.org.
