Marsha Karr
Memories of Marsha
Marsha and I met in 2009 at the first Dance for Parkinson’s classes held in Kirkland, Washington, and immediately became close friends. She was very stylish, pretty, and friendly and ready to have fun. We did have fun, going to art museums, lunch and meditation at the Frye and dancing together in classes for many years.
These are the only photos I have of Marsha, taken the day of the Women’s March in Seattle in 2016, as part of the Resistance. She was open minded, interested and engaged in the world, politics and human rights. We shared personal challenges we were facing on our Parkinson’s journey, supporting each other, ready to listen, understand and care.
We spoke a few days before she passed. I had just returned from our daughter’s wedding. She spoke so softly I could hardly make out her words. Then in a strong voice she asked “ What was the best thing about Zara’s wedding?” She was clear and she was interested. I answered, “The love they have for each other was evident”. She heard me and she drifted off with a smile.
