The Elizabeth Forey Chapter of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) extends its sincere condolences to the family of Lorna Burt. Lorna joined the DAR in 1991 based upon the service during the Revolutionary War of her family patriot, Abraham Vosburgh, Pvt of New York. She was very proud of her heritage.
Lorna is remembered as a gracious lady. She hosted chapter meetings, was chairman of American Heritage, gave short programs including one on George Washington and at another, brought her collection of Valentines and spoke of the old traditions related to Valentine's Day. She made it a point to make new members feel welcome and faithfully attended DAR meetings until her health no longer permitted it. She is fondly remembered by her sisters in the Elizabeth Forey Chapter and will be missed by all who knew her.
