Loretta M. Simmons' Obituary
Loretta M. Simmons Mom Grandma Friend Loretta M. Simmons passed away peacefully in Olympia, March 1, 2008. She was born in North Dakota September 8, 1923, and graduated in a class of eight from Palermo High School. Loretta moved to Tacoma when she was 18, and worked as a waitress at Knapp's. She received an associate's degree from Tacoma Community College at the age of 57 in Human Services. Loretta's great passion was her family and friends. Her hobby was gardening, and she inspired others with her enthusiasm and knowledge. Loretta was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Robert (Bob); also daughter Therese and son Glen. Survivors are sons Scott (Jan), Doug (Linda) and Brian (Barb), daughter Maureen. Loretta was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will take place Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 2:30pm, Mountain View Funeral Home. Memorial reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made in Loretta's name to the Burn Center at St. Joseph Hospital, or the charity of their choice.
