Loretta Bradford-Fletcher's Obituary
Loretta Marietta Bradford-Fletcher was born on November 18, 1968, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Bernice Davis and Joseph Green of Milwaukee, WI. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather Adam (Buster) Davis, whom was influential throughout her lessons of life. She transitioned to her heavenly home on September 15, 2019 in Tacoma, WA.
With the majority of her youth spent between Milwaukee, WI and Tacoma, WA, Loretta's primary education was obtained between those two cities. Her secondary education included securing an apprenticeship in Carpentry and Cosmetology Licensure from BJ's Beauty School.
Though she was small in stature, there was nothing else small about Loretta. Known by those who love her as "La", she was BIG in life, BIG in spirit and BIG in love. She was known for her fierce, uncensored sense of humor that was always rooted in love. As a devoted wife and mother she inspired us all throughout her fight against cancer. Loretta always said that Joshua was the blessing she always prayed for and she was so thankful for the 32-year journey of love they shared and the nurturing of the blended family they created from their union, which was dear to her heart.
As a seasoned entrepreneur, Loretta had a 20+ year career as a hairstylist. A natural born giver, Loretta always gave a sense of warmth and comfort; when you sat in her chair you were not only a client but a friend. She freely provided her wisdom, knowledge and encouragement. When you left her chair you felt uplifted, happy and of course beautiful. She later expanded her career as a Service Provider for the State of WA, caring for the disabled at Rainier State School. As a real-life Dr. Dolittle her last entrepreneurial aspiration was to own and operate a salon and daycare for dogs. She loved spending time on the lakes fishing, traveling with her husband and playing videogames.
Loretta leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Joshua Fletcher, loving sons, Donye Davis, Zeke Hill and Joshua Fletcher IV, all of Tacoma, WA. In addition, she is survived by sisters, Valetta (Justin) Bradford, Jolisa Green, Jacquline Robbins and Maurine Edwards, one brother Maurice Edwards all of Milwaukee,WI; Her grandchildren Macaria, Mya, and Allyse, all of Tacoma, WA; nephews, Marsay Davis, Cory Cox Jr; Godbrother Cory Cox and her vast family of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
Please honor the life and memory of Loretta by leaving cherished memories, messages, and photos for her family on the guestbook page.
