Loree Lou Lord's Obituary
Loree Lou Lord, 76, passed away Sunday, June 3rd, 2007. Loree was born in Tacoma, Washington and graduated from Lincoln High School. In 1962 Loree co-founded Northwest Home Designing, Inc. She was a member of Tacoma Rotary #8 (recipient of Paul Harris & Arthur Wickens Fellow), Clover Park Rotary, past president of the Tacoma Opera Guild and Women,'s Council of the (MBA) Master Builders Association of Pierce County. She was a 25 year cancer survivor.Loree was born to Clifford and Alice (McConihey) Singletary of Tacoma. She is survived by her sister, Jeannine Lockert, her brother, Floyd Singletary, 5 children, Sheri Swall (Bruce) Oceana, CA, Denise Rathwick (Ray) University Place, WA, Robert Mickey (Linda) Lakewood, WA, Todd Lord (Laurie) University Place, WA, April Lord-Wittig (Michael), and step-daughter Sharon Welch (Tom) Beaverton, OR, (13) grandchildren and (4) great-grandchildren.Loree was passionate about life and had an array of pastimes. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes, walking, crocheting and knitting blankets for family and friends, boating, and had enormous love for sports. She was especially fond of bowling, and enjoyed watching all of her favorite bowlers compete. Her last several years she found a new hobby; she enjoyed traveling extensively with her friends.Loree, who was a generous woman, donated to numerous charitable foundations. She was particularly fervent about Seattle Children,'s Hospital.
