Lola Mae Murphy
January 10, 1925 – October 12, 2013
Lola Mae Murphy passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Madigan Army Medical Center. She was born on January 10, 1925 in Colfax Louisiana to William and Mary (Brew) Glover who preceded her in death along with all of her siblings, and her oldest daughter Annie Lois Blackwell (James).
She is survived by her loving husband Dero Murphy who she was married to for over sixty-seven years. She is also survived by her other children; William Murphy (Carmen), Ron Murphy (Sylvia), Ivy Murphy, Donna Crawford (Willie), Michael Murphy (Debbie) and Dorothea Murphy. Lola loved her husband and children very much, but was also extremely proud of her eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was a long time resident of Pierce County having arrived as a result of her husband being stationed at Ft. Lewis. She was a very hard working person who instilled Christian values in her children and was a great role model for others she knew.
Lola was a proud long time member of Bethlehem Baptist Church serving as a missionary, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary for the Willing Workers Circle and Prayer Band. Her gentle spirit and kindness touched the hearts of all she knew. She will be so greatly missed.
A celebration of life service will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Friday, October 25th. There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:30. The service will begin at 11:00 AM with burial services immediately following at Mt. View Funeral Home.
