Ms. Bailey was and always will be an axing part of so many because of the kindness and love she showed so many. She was a teacher who went above and beyond for every one of her students, not only in the classroom. Once you were one of her children you were hers for life. There are so many reasons to be grateful for her and the lasting impacts she will have on the world due to her faith in God, her commitment to her calling, and the amazing love in her heart.
Ms. Bailey cared so deeply and with such loving kindness for all her students and had such a place in her heart for Black students before culturally specific was even a buzzword or catchphrase. I participated in the African Academy at Evergreen campus in the Hilltop and her later summer program for Black boys. And she continued to track my education and growth throughout life as a mentor. My condolences to her family and close friends. Her legacy and the investments she made in community are amazingly beautiful and beyond words. I am eternally grateful for her.
My condolences to the family.
I know Lola from a summer program on the Hilltop and the impact she made in my daughter's life continues to resonate in her adult life. Her dedication to community a standard to be emulated, take your rest well earned Lola.
