Lois Ann Dunlap Treece's Obituary
Lois Ann Dunlap Treece
Lois was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on October 11, 1934, and passed away on June 26, 2025. She was the only child of Robert Edward Dunlap and Ruth Ardath Guiney Dunlap. Lois is greatly missed by her husband of 65 years, James Roy Treece.
Before her marriage, Lois taught Latin, English, and Spanish to high school students at her alma mater in Sioux City. She devoted most of her adult life to her family - her husband, Jim, and her three children: Cindy (Brian) Kissinger, Kim (John) Turner, and Jet Treece. She dearly loved each of her grandchildren - Lisa, Kevin, Jason, Emily, James, Brandel, Patrick, Jillian, and Riley - and just missed the birth of her first great-grandchild.
Lois was active in PTA at her childrens’ schools, and at First Christian Church of Tacoma. She belonged to PEO International. Jim and Lois often traveled, exploring foreign countries and visiting family. She enjoyed reading and all kinds of puzzles and games. She had a unique mix of gentleness and spice, an ever-present twinkle in her eye, and a warm smile.
The family takes comfort knowing that she is reunited with her parents, grandson Patrick, and many precious family and friends, and that one day we will once again be with her.
There will be a memorial service at a later date. Contributions in Lois’s memory may be made to Patrick’s Purpose Foundation, a cause dear to her heart. https://www.patrickspurposefoundation.org
