Lois May Sandquist's Obituary
Lois May Sandquist passed away at the age of 94, Thursday February 15, 2024 to join her father and mother; Jesse and Florence Fulton, and husband of 51 years; Reuben Sandquist. Lois is survived by her children and spouses; Diane Salter (Jeff) and Mark Sandquist (Tiffiny), grandchildren; Michael Salter and Kathleen Salter-Smith (Josh), Cameron Sandquist (Karina) and Olivia Sandquist, along with her great-grandchildren; Cole and Clara Smith.
A graduate of Lincoln High School who attended Pacific Lutheran University, she became a secretary for the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company, married Reuben Sandquist, and for the past 37 years has been a member and resident of the Oakbrook Country Club community.
Lois enjoyed her younger years skiing, bowling, and participating in various garden clubs as they moved throughout the United States. As Reuben’s career with NCR progressed they left their home in Tacoma, WA, relocating to Kennewick, Wa, Twin Falls, Idaho and back to Tacoma, Wa. In 1965 they relocated to Portland, OR, Boise, Idaho, only to return west to Mercer Island, WA. and then to Carmel, Indiana before returning to Washington and retiring to their roots in Lakewood, WA. Lois enjoyed many years golfing at Oakbrook CC, entertaining, and traveling with friends. Lois’s greatest pride were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought smiles to her daily.
