Thank you, mom, for always encouraging me.
You always said, "Be somebody" and "You can do it."
You're smart.
You can do well in school.
You can go to college.
You can get a degree.
You can go on a mission.
I believed you, so I did.
You helped teach me the value of hard work. Picking strawberries and raspberries all summer long helped pay for my school clothes. It was my job to wax the kitchen and bathroom floors and clean the ovens. There was no such thing as "women's work." Everyone was expected to help with the household chores, and they did.
I will be ever so grateful I had that one, brief last chance to say "I love you" just a day or two before you left us.
Mom, I love you forever.##imported-begin##Stan Harrison##imported-end##
