Lois Donion's Obituary
Lois Louise Donion
There is a new sweetheart in Heaven. Although her earthly presence ended on June 27th, Lois Donion is at a grand reunion with family and friends that have preceded her. The effects of age and illness took her from us about one month after her 88th birthday. She was born on May 29th, 1924 in Longview, Washington to Maude and Henry Birkenstock. They settled in Tacoma, WA. Lois graduated from Stadium High School and met her future husband there. She worked as a bank teller after graduation, before marrying Myron Donion during WWII. Together they raised one son, Wally. After celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary, Myron passed away. Lois is survived by her loving family: son, Wally Donion and his wife Jan, grandson, Paul Donion and his wife Stacey and granddaughter, Stephanie Yonker. She was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Tyler Yonker, Preston Donion, Alexa Donion, and Blake Donion, all of whom gave her tremendous pleasure. Her brother, Alvin Birkenstock of Tacoma and her sister, Ruth Hinsch of El Paso, Texas have also survived her passing. Lois has also left sisters-in-law Adele, Janet and Carole and many neices and nephews and cousins. Lois' joy and personal strength and sweet spirit remains in the minds and hearts of her family, of whom she was extremely proud, and the friends she touched. She was a very special person and will be missed by everyone who knew her. A service will be held on July 8 at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Park.
Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
