In the last years of her life while I was supposed to be caring for her,she was busy trying to teach me how to make her famous peach cobbler and sweet potato pie. I never got to actually make anything because baking was auto pilot for her. We would be sitting at the table when she would say "I want something chocolate." She would make it and eat a small serving and that was all she would eat. I was there to assist and eat the final product, which I did not mind at all.
I was very fortunate to be with my mother, she fed me well, taught me lots and would counsel me when she thought I needed it. She was fun and beautiful. And she could be quite stubborn, what she said goes and that was it but she wasn't mean about.
That was my "girl" and I miss her so much!
She did leave me her spoiled rotten little dog,Mickie.
