Lisa G. Cozad-Jocelyn's Obituary
Lisa was a homemaker with very family oriented values and really held her children and grandchildren close to heart and loved them very much, unconditionally. She welcomed most everyone into her life and loved her friends as family. Lisa really cherished spending the holidays and special occasions with family and friends. She would go above and beyond to make these times special and memorable to everyone. She always made sure there was enough for everyone, whether it was food or gifts… no one went without. She loved gathering her family and friends around her, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving, giving, caring, selfless person that inspired the ones around her.
Lisa enjoyed doing arts and crafts and even more so when her grandchildren were involved. She taught her children and was teaching her grandchildren that homemade gifts were the best and the funnest to make. She was also fond of bingo, camping, fishing, yard saleing, playing cards and board games, sewing, swimming in the ocean, travelling, and most of all, crocheting. She would take her crocheting with her everywhere she went. Lisa loved making blankets, hats, scarves, bags, dresses, and more. Some of them she sold but most of them were made with love for family, friends, acquaintances, and even for the people she never met at nursing homes and shelters that she donated items to.
Lisa took pride in being involved with social events such as Sisters in Spirit, Lakefest, Hearts and Farts, and definitely the Boo Bash. She was extremely talented at coming up with ideas and making them ideas happen. Her talents were appreciated by those around her, more so at halloween. The ideas for decorating and for costumes were amazing and, at times, amazingly unique. Whether it was making dirt cups with worms or making a costume out of whatever was laying around the house, she had the talent to always impress others. Lisa not only enjoyed being involved, she loved to attend many social events. Camping and dances were her favorites, however, she also enjoyed retreats and other gatherings- especially if there was a raffle (in which she usually won!).
Lisa was proud of being meth-free since January 16th, 2005. She was also proud of her children and grandchildren and would express it often with a smile. Lisa touched the heart of so many and will be missed by everyone that loves her.
Lisa is survived by her partner Edward Burton Madison, Sr.; her children Alicia Jean Jocelyn, Tommy Lee Grice, Edward Burton Madison, Jr., Amber Lynn Watts (all of Tacoma, WA), Gina Walker, of Witchita, KS, and Wendy Elizabeth Anne Shura, of Trenton, NJ; her siblings Linda Diel, Debbi Dietz, Teresa White, and Ronald Jocelyn (all of IL); and 21 grandchildren:
