Lisa A. Chargualaf's Obituary
Lisa Ann (Hyatt) Chargualaf, age 39, born September 30th, 1977 in El Paso, Texas and passed on August 24th, 2017 in Lakewood, Washington. She peacefully passed in her home surrounded by family just as she had wished and was reunited with her mother Liz, who she so deeply missed.
The Seahawks lost their biggest fan on August 24, 2017. After a 6-year battle with breast cancer, Lisa made the toughest decision of her life and decided to end all treatment for her cancer. While her young heart and mind told her to fight, her body just could not endure much more. At peace with her decision, Lisa spent the last chapter of life in her home that she loved with her entire family at her side. Lisa was the beating heart of the family and the ultimate nurturer. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, and “mimi”. A good friend, a comedian, a protector and the kindest soul to ever walk our planet. Lisa was sharp witted with an uncanny ability to recall details until the very end. Those who were lucky enough to cross paths with her were stuck with her because from that point on, that was it - you were family. Lisa loved her family and displayed it proudly through her scrapbooking passion! Lisa loved camping, traveling, and vacationing with her family. Countless spring and summer days were spent on baseball fields, dojos, or gymnasiums watching her son Gabriel play baseball or perform Tai Chi Kung Fu. Sundays in the fall and winter were reserved for her boys in blue “Go Hawks!” She always loved snuggling with her grandsons, hanging out with Kai and her Matilda, sister time, crafting with her nieces, spoiling her beloved pup Russell and any other activity that included her family! Lisa absolutely loved the life she built with her best friend and husband Gerry Chargualaf, laughing and creating cherished memories each and every day.
Lisa wanted to thank all of her supporters and pink warriors since her battle with breast cancer began in 2011. This includes countless friends and family members that we are truly appreciative and blessed to have in our corner. A special “thank you” to Dr. Sibel Blau and her husband Dr. Tony Blau and their staffs at NWMS in Puyallup and the UW Medical Center as well as the clinical trials unit (CTU) at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Also, we are forever indebted to Continental Mills and DeGoede Brothers for the caring, compassion, and support that has greatly exceeded the expectations we could have for any employer. We thank and love you all!
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM Friday, September 1, 2017 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Lakewood. Graveside service 1:30 PM at Mountain View Memorial Park, Lakewood.
