Lisa Ann Hammett's Obituary
Lisa Ann Hammett
11/1/1966 -" 05/07/2012
Lisa passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 7 after a three year battle with cancer. She was a wonderful woman of faith who believes that she will be reunited with her family in Heaven. Lisa was a joy to all who knew her.
Lisa graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a degree in social work. She worked for many years at Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare and enjoyed her clients and fellow workers immensely.
She is survived by her son Joshua, who was the light of her life, brother Scott (Chris), nieces Kyrin and Kylie, and father Tom. She was preceded in death by her mother Rita. She leaves behind many great friends from her church and Joy In The Morning Bible Study Group, social worker friends from Puget Sound Hospital, Dennie and Penny, some extremely close friends, Kathy, Faye, and Pam from Greater Lakes Mental Health, a loving neighbor, Jennifer, and a childhood friend, Bonnie.
Lisa was a vibrant, creative, enthusiastic lady who always displayed a fantastic smile that was contagious to those around her. She loved to design and create a variety of craft projects. She enjoyed being a volunteer in her son's classroom at Waller Road School.
A celebration of her life service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 4519 112th St. E., Tacoma, WA. Donations may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or the National Foundation for Cancer Research, PO Box 96024, Washington, D.C. 20090-6024. We would like to thank the loving staff of the Oncology Unit at Tacoma General and MultiCare Hospice team for their great care given to Lisa. Also we would like to thank Bill for his help and for taking good care of Joshua.
