Linda Tieng Mead's Obituary
Linda Mead, a loving mother and longtime resident of Tacoma, Washington, passed away unexpectedly on May 8, 2019 at the age of 68.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Jackie Mead Toth, Cindy Nguyen and Michelle Montgomery; her four younger sisters and a younger brother.
Linda was born on April 16, 1951 to Nguyen Van Non and Ngo Thi Nam in the district of Trang Bang in the city of Tay Ninh in Vietnam. In her late teens she met and married Stuart Mead and they moved to Thailand. They only stayed there for a brief time before moving to Singapore, which is where she spent most of her 20's. Her and Stuart moved to the United States in her early 30's and she has been a resident of Tacoma, Washington ever since.
Our mother Linda was a survivor, a world traveler, a fashionista and a mover and shaker with a smile that could light up a room. She was goofy, loyal, charismatic, beautiful, funny, bright, hard-working and resilient. Many of those who knew our mother knew that she had several antique shops throughout her life and she loved the thrill of the “hunt”. She loved having her shops because she loved interacting with individuals from all walks of life. She made friends everywhere she went and stole the hearts of those that had the pleasure of meeting her. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and those who knew her.
A funeral service will be held for her at Mountain View Funeral Home on Thursday, May 16th from 11 am to 2 pm. Her burial will take place on May 21st at 12 pm at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent where she will be laid to rest with her life-long partner and best friend, Stuart Mead.
