Linda Lu Kerns' Obituary
Our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Linda Lu Kerns passed away peacefully in her sleep on 12-15-2021 at the age of 75 years old. Born in Hastings Nebraska on 7-22-1946.
She and her brother Danny Kerns were raised by their grandparents Ira and Betty Ostrander.
After flourishing on the farm she went on to be a beautician. She then changed career paths and joined the restaurant industry.
Linda is survived by all five of her children.. James Stanley, Laura (Hardman) Tucci, Dana (Clark) Chenevert, Serena (Barr) Shirkey, Donald Barr, many great and grandchildren.
She taught all of her children how to be strong and independent.
Her eldest daughter Laura shared a memory...
Linda was really there for her when she needed it the most. Linda sought out professionals to help Laura with her drinking and had she not who knows where she might have ended up. Linda gave guidance and helped Laura back on track when she was literally losing her mind.
Her youngest daughter Serena shared a fond remembrance of Linda. Her love of books and reading sparked curiosity in Serena and later she shared the same love for reading and books. Serena believes that Linda loved to read so much because it took her to places she could never go. Serena shared that anyone who knew Linda would say their lives were definitely changed.
Linda did state how she was proud of her children and truly only wanted happiness and the best for them all.
May she find peace in this new chapter and may the lord forgive her of her sins so she may bask in his glorious light. Linda, you were loved by many, will be missed and never be forgotten!
