I met Linda when she was 5 and I was 9 in 1952. I stayed at their home because my mother worked. Larry, Linda and I relished the days when Leslie made maple bars or cinamon rolls.
We became neighbors in 1954 when both our families moved into new homes on Stevens St where they lived until 1963. I attended Emmanuel Baptist Church with Linda and her family most of those years. We celebrated many birthdays, church events, graduations and picnics, some special ones at Wandermere Park.
We attended the wedding of Sam and Linda and many gatherings to celebrate the birth of Wade, birthdays and other life events.
We attended the wedding of John and Linda and birthday and life celebrations with them as well.
Linda loved her mother dearly and cared for her constantly during her bout with cancer and passing in 2004. She spoke of her often and visited her grave regularly.
Linda helped us greatly by watching Auggie, our dog when we went on trips. She was always happy to see him and lovingly took care of him. She loved dogs and her parrot and we always got some of her delicious cakes or cookies on return.
We last saw her at the residence center with our twin grand daughters who she enjoyed seeing.
We miss her but glad that her suffering if over.
