Linda Jean Gowin's Obituary
Linda Jean Gowin passed away on November 22, 2023 with her loving husband by her side, in Puyallup Washington.
Linda is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary, her daughter Lisa Filley, her son Jason Gowin and daughter-n-law Rhonda. She had seven grandchildren Brandon, Colton, Tyler, Cassie, Cole, Blake and Shelby, and five great-grandchildren Jagger, Roman, Macey, Owen and Evelynn.
Linda was born January 3rd, 1948. She grew up in Tacoma Washington and she graduated from Mount Tahoma High School in 1966. After high school she began working in the mailroom for Bratrud Middleton. She then went to Clover Park Technical College and received a Certificate in Automotive Upholstery. Linda and Gary ran an automotive business where they restored and rebuilt many old classic cars, her upholstery work was impeccable and she was a skilled hard worker. Years later she went back to work for Bratrud Middleton as a commercial lines account manager and retired from the company in 2008.
Linda was smart and a determined woman with a quick-witted sense of humor. She had a gift of creativity: from her flower gardens to her beautiful art pieces made from concrete. She also enjoyed painting and making jewelry. One of her favorite ways to spend her time was boating, fishing and crabbing with her husband. Linda also enjoyed being at the river property with her family where they had built a cabin. Her love for animals especially her dogs were unmatched, her dogs and even her cats went along with them on their drives and camping adventures. Her spot at Sand Lake Dunes in Oregon had the most beautiful view of the ocean- her times spent with family and friends at these sand dunes for holidays and vacations riding quads, playing cards, being with each other and eating the best meals are memories that will be cherished forever.
She will be missed dearly by her loving family, friends and all that knew her and loved her. She leaves all of us with loving memories and unforgettable stories.
We will be having a celebration of life at 11:00am to 2:00pm on December 10th in the Willow Room of the Celebration of Life Center, located on the grounds of Mountain View Memorial Park.
