Linda F. Thompson's Obituary
Candy, 53, is now praising and worshiping Jesus face-to-face. She died peacefully at home surrounded by loving family Jan 9, 2003. Born 4/26/49 to Thomas and Edna Lentz in Atlanta, GA, she grew up with her brothers Rodney and Rodrick Lentz. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 34 years, Daniel W. Thompson, and her children Matthew, David and Catherine. Her love, joy, fearlessness and vivacious spirit touched lives worldwide. She served as Mayor of Myrtle Point, OR, and Chairman of Council of Gov. for Coos-Curry Counties. In Missoula, MT she served as a School Board Member, President of YWCA, and President of Crime Stoppers. She graduated from the University of Montana in 1994 with a major in Journalism and minor in Russian. She then went on to resettle over 500 Russian Refugees as Director of World Relief for the State of Montana. Working hand and hand with her husband, she brought medical relief and the Gospel to the poor in 16 different countries. A celebration of CandyÂ's life will be held at 3pm, Mon, Jan 13, 2003 at the Celebration of Life Center at Mt. View Memorial Park.
