Lily J. (de Rafael-Hoover) Parkinson
Born June 3, 1922,Lily left us on September, 2010 to join her beloved husband, Walter (Parky) of 43 years. Lily leaves behind daughter Wendy Sepic (Thom), and son, W. Michael Parkinson, grandsons, Sean (Rebecca) Parkinson and Jeffrey Parkinson, great granddaughter Elise, who was a source of great delight and joy. Lily was preceded in death by first husband, Tige Hoover, during World War II, and Parky in 1991. Lily first worked for Van Camps Bakery and then retired from the Employment Security Department. Upon retirement she and Parky lived on Carr Inlet in the Key Peninsula where Parky loved his daily fishing jaunts, and when winter arrived they spent many sunny and warm days at the Happy Wanderer's Park in Indio,ECA. Their working and retirement years were spent taking a number of carefully planned and thoroughly enjoyed trips in the Hawaiian Islands, Alaska, most of the United States and Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia, and one in particular when she accompanied her daughter on a driving trip to Mazatlan,EMX from Tucson. Lily continued to winter inEIndio,CA following Parky's death. She also very much enjoyed her membership in Beta Sigma Phi for many decades. Mom was greatly loved and will be forever missed.EA memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Gravelly Lake Drive on Tuesday, September 28, at 10:00 a.m.
