Lillian E. Ellenwood's Obituary
Lillian E. Ellenwood passed away at Stigler Hospital in Stigler, Oklahoma Monday, May 3, 2010 from natural causes. She was 92. Born in Superior, Wisconsin on July 16, 1917 to Adolph Jorgenson and Amelia Larson, she moved to Tacoma, Washington shortly after her birth.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dwight Raymond Ellenwood, her parents, and her brother Roy Jorgenson. She is survived her younger sister, Bernice Kuzmanich, who lives in Belgrade, Maine, her son Robert R. Ellenwood and his family in Quinton, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She has two nieces who also live in Maine.
Lillian led a full life, travelling worldwide, especially to Norway, where her father, Adolph immigrated from. She lived in France for three years with her husband and son while Dwight was in the U. S. Air Force. She returned to Tacoma, Washington, where she lived the remaining years of her life. She was an active volunteer with the Sons of Norway, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, as well as Allenmore Hospital. Lillian was active in her church, Gloria Dei Lutheran, for over 40 years. Please send donations to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. This was one of Lillian's last requests.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Mountain View Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 21, 2010 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
