Lewis Riggins' Obituary
Mr. Lewis Riggins born June 22, 1923 in Varnville, SC at the age of 90 passed from this life, and was granted his angel wings on December 09, 2013 in Tacoma, WA. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
Mr. Riggins had served in the U.S. Army for over 20 years and retired in 1965. He then retired from Educator’s Manufacturing in 1987. Mr. Riggins enjoyed travelling, fishing and keeping up with current events. Mr. Riggins had touched so many people with his kind and unselfish disposition; he had a very kind heart and never complained. He always was in good spirits no matter what the cause, or the circumstances he had to face.
Mr. Riggins is survived by his sister, Ernestine Taylor of Walterboro, SC and her children Stanley, Hazel, Ray, Delphia, Hansel and Audrey; his brother, Thomas Riggins of Henderson, NV and his wife Maggie and their sons Steven, married to Marilyn and son Austin and Scott married to Christie, and their sons, Markell and Christian. Mr. Riggins has a stepson, Theodore J. Riggins of Walterboro, SC who is married to his wife Julia; and three stepdaughters, Rhoda Burton married to Bruce of Federal Way, WA, and their two children Angel and Bruce Jr., Imogene “Jeanie” Sheppard married to Lawrence of Graham, WA and their three children Charles, Lauren and LaChantel; and Diana Allen-Nash married to Antonio of Centerville, GA., and their five sons Michael, John, Madrell, Bryce and Chad, there is also his granddaughter Qestra and great- granddaughter Ariyanna. Mr. Riggins has a total of 11 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter and counting, along with a host of nieces and nephews that are far too many to mention, but not forgotten.
Now you can rest peacefully, we’ll miss you papa.
Viewing will be on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 1:00 – 6:00 at Mountain View Funeral Home, service will be held in the Garden Chapel on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 10:00 am.
