Lewis S. Lewis' Obituary
LEWIS S. (STEVE) LEWIS, age 68, passed away 9 August 2014. Lewis was born in LaPush, Washington. Most of his adult life he spent in the military. His military career began in 1967 as a tank driver during the Vietnam War. The rest of his service was with the National Guard at Camp Murray, Washington, where he retired honorably after twenty-one and one-half years with the rank of Sergeant. During his service, Lewis received the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter M16, and the Combat Infantry Badge.
Lewis also worked with the Job Corps, planting seedlings on Mount Rainer to help replenish the forest after logging had disturbed the natural balance of the land. Lewis began his work history as an Oyster Picker in Purdy, Washington.
Lewis is survived by his brothers: Ken Lewis and Bruce Lewis; his sisters, Margaret Pritchard and Sharon Schultz – their respective spouses: Elena, Cindy, Robert, and Lawney; numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, seven great-nieces, and two great-nephews. His parents Donald and Harriet Lewis and his brother, Earl, preceded him in death.
His sunny smile and infectious laughter will be missed.
