Leslie & Thelma's Obituary
Leslie and Thelma Cook died Saturday, May 7th, 2005 in an auto accident while enjoying a ride in their 1931 Model A. Leslie Cook was born in Milton, WA on May 4th, 1934 and Thelma Cook was born in Brooken, OK on March 27th, 1931. They were married on June 19th, 1964 in Milton, WA. Both were active in the community in many ways. They belonged to the Galloping Gertie Model A Club, and were active supporters of Stonecroft Ministries and Tanwax Country Chapel. Thelma loved to sew and was especially gifted at creating beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed fellowship with the Christian WomenÂ's Club. Les was a member of the VFW and a lifetime member of the NRA. He was active in Blue Grass music and as a master craftsman he especially enjoyed creating beautiful custom made guitars and mandolins. Both Les and Thelma enjoyed traveling, but their biggest joy was visiting with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Les and Thelma are survived by one brother, Mike, and one sister, Lorraine, four children Jacob, Don, Doug, and Irene, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Les and Thelma always placed family and friends before themselves. They were loved by many and will be missed by all. The memorial service will be held at 3:00 P. M., Saturday, May 14th, 2005, in the Mt. View Valley Chapel, at 4100 Steilacoom Blvd S.W., Lakewood.
