Leslie Holgersen's Obituary
Les Holgersen age 82, an Auburn resident passed away Wednesday February 15, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way. Born in Arcata, California, Les was a computer software engineer at Boeing. He will be missed and loved by his family and many friends.
Leslie was born November 15, 1934 in Arcata, California to Marius and Andrea (Chrestensen) Holgersen. He graduated from Arcata Union High School in 1953 and from Humboldt State University in Arcata in 1957. On August 18, 1956 he married Susan Schirmann in Arcata, California. He was attending Graduate school at Oregon State when he landed his job at the Boeing Company and moved to the Seattle area. Leslie was employed by the Boeing Company and worked on the Lunar Orbiter project where all five missions were successful, mapping 99% of the lunar surface to help provide a landing spot for the Apollo missions. He loved to ski so much, he purchased a ski condominium that the family used and enjoyed for many years. He enjoyed working in the yard, and was especially proud of his garden. He was an avid bowler and a member of the Auburn Eagles where he kicked up his heels on the dance floor.
Leslie is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth O’Brien, his son Eric Holgersen and his long time companion of 14 years, Gloria Arend and her wonderful family; Lori, Russ and Jan, and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marius and Andrea, his brothers Peter Holgersen, Otto Holgersen, Holger Holgersen, and his sister Elina Deuel.

A celebration of life service will be held from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Federal Way Senior Center 4016 So. 352nd St. Auburn, WA. 98001.
