Leslie D George's Obituary
Leslie Donald George went home peacefully to be with his Savior on Saturday evening, surrounded by his family.
Mr. George was born to Elmer and Florence George in the farming community of Staples, MN.
Les married Vivian Olson on December 7, 1941. The couple raised their two sons, Alvin and Melford, in Wadena, MN where Les was employed by the Monarch Ice Cream Company. In 1945, Les began working at the Big Glaser 7-Up Bottling Company in Wadena. In 1952, Les accepted a new position with Big Glaser in Olympia, WA. Big Glaser became a part of Pepsico, and Les spent the next 34 years employed there. The family moved to Tacoma in 1958, where they became members of the Evangelistic Tabernacle.
In 1989, Les and Vivian built a home in Puyallup and began attending Experience Church. After retiring from Pepsi, Les continued to work with his son Al at Puyallup Carpet Center.
Throughout their lives, Les and Vivian remained deeply grounded in the Lord. Their love for Jesus was passed on and shared through their extended family. Through the years, their unwavering faith was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Les is survived by his son Melford and daughters-in-law Joy and Vee George, six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his wife Vivian of 63 years and son Alvin.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 3 at 2:00 pm at Experience Church, 10012 122nd St. E. Puyallup, WA.
