Leroy Stanley Richards' Obituary
Leroy Stanley Richards passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2005 in his home in Steilacoom, WA. He was born August 31, 1929 in Spokane, WA. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Elleen (Anderson) Richards, son Mark Cameron (Barbara) Richards, daughter Jan Carol Richards (Bob) Wilkie. Lee was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Lydia (Jantz) Richards, brother Milton Â"BudÂ" Richards, sister Verna Â"BabeÂ" White.He served his country in the United States Army for 20 years in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, as a member of the 52nd Field Artillery Task Force. He retired as a First Sergeant. Lee belonged to the Elks and the Sertoma Service Clubs, and served for 37 years with Sertoma helping the hearing impaired and less fortunate. Lee was a realtor for Jacobsen Realty for over 37 years.A memorial service in celebration of his life and resurrection will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 28th at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church, 7700 Skansie, Gig Harbor, WA. Bus service will be available by calling 851-7779. Burial will be at Tahoma National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chapel Hill Church or Sertoma.
