Leonard Tunnell's Obituary
Leonard Fairfield Tunnell Of Tacoma, passed away suddenly on May 17, 2011. Len was born on February 1, 1933, in Clovis, New Mexico. He is survived by his daughters Cathy Harrison and Yvonne Tunnell, and his life partner of past 15 years Anita Griggs and her family Helen and Gary Stophel, Tom and Christina Griggs, Arnold and Tami Griggs, Sylvia Griggs, Robert Griggs, brother John and his wife Belle Tunnell, 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Leonard retired from the US Air Force in 1972 and the US Geological Survey in 1990. Len was an active member and past Worthy President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 3 of Tacoma since 1995. An avid bowler, Len had been on many leagues through the years. Services will be held on May 23, 2011, at 2:00 pm in the Mountain View Garden Chapel, followed by a graveside service. At the family's request donations can be made in his name to the American Lung Association, The Fraternal Order of Eagles, or a charity of your choice.
