Leonard “Buck” Meacham
7/28/1934 - 7/16/2025
On Wednesday, July 16, Buck Meacham passed away peacefully at the age of 90. Buck was a devoted husband, brother, stepfather and grandfather, beloved by many.
Buck was born in Tacoma, Washington, and made it his home for the majority of his life. After a short stint in the US Army, Buck studied mathematics at the University of Puget Sound, before continuing graduate courses at University of Connecticut and received his Master's from Utah State University. Returning to Tacoma, he was a math teacher in the Tacoma Public Schools for 31 years. His impact was not only limited to the classroom, as he also was a coach for many years as well, coaching basketball for many seasons.
Outside of his family and loved ones, Buck had a great love of golf, volunteering as a rules official for the Washington Junior Golf Association for many years. He also was an initial investor in Oakbrook Golf and Country Club, and served on the Board of Directors there for several years.
Buck is pre-deceased by his wife Rosalyn, but his spirit, sense of humor, and moral compass is carried on by his Brother Jack, sister-in-law Mary, stepdaughter Rosemary, grandsons Russ and Dennis, and niece Kathy.
