Leonard "Len" Thomas Barrett's Obituary
Leonard T. Barrett, 77, passed away on August 17, 2021 after a long battle with COPD. He stayed connected to his family, Navy friends and church friends until the end.
Len is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jan, son Sean (Allison), and daughter Suzy (Tony).
Len was committed to the Navy since he was a teenager, beginning his career as a Radarman highlighted by his time during the America's Cup Races with President Kennedy and the stopping a Soviet-sponsored ship to enforce the blockage in the Cuban Missile Crisis. He retired as a Command Master Chief. For decades Len supported his favorite ship, the USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., with donations, tour support, technical support, parts acquisition trips, and reunions.
