Leona Margarita Grotelueschen's Obituary
Leona M. Grotelueschen was born March 25, 1918 in Alexandria, Indiana. She was a 20-year member of the Lions, having served as Past President of the Peninsula Lions and being the first woman in the Gig Harbor Lions. She also received the Melvin Jones Award from the Lions.Husbands, John Whitaker and Greely Groteluechen; son-in-law Bob Cheatham; her parents, Jesse and Mabel Lawson and 4 siblings preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters, Elizabeth (Charles) Seaich of Roseville, CA, and Marilyn Cheatham of University Place, WA; son, David (Charline) Whitaker of Stockton, CA; sister, Joy Wasson of Sacramento, CA; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Viewing will be Tuesday, January 8, 2008 from 3pm to 9pm at Mountain View Funeral Home. A graveside service will be Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 2:30pm at Mountain View Memorial Park.
